A lot of times people think that being a Christian is about being stiff and boring. But it’s ok to laugh, it’s ok to have fun and still love God. I luh God, you don’t luh God? What’s wrong with you!!
In Luke Chapter 18:10 Jesus speaks to some people who trusted in themselves and were confident that they were righteous [posing outwardly as upright and in right standing with God], and who viewed others with contempt:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Why is it that some Christians feel that they have Jesus on speed-dial and others Christians don’t? All people have the ability to have an everlasting relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If we can just focus on perfecting ourselves individually instead of focusing on what the next person is doing, we would be way further in our walk. In Mark 10:17 Jesus is approached by some one calling him Good Master:
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
If Jesus, who is with out sin, corrects a man who refers to him as good, then who are we to boast in our goodness. We as Christians should strive to do God’s will, and never forget that we too have fallen short. Romans 3:23 says
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
It is Jesus who died for our sins, who opens the door for us to have everlasting life. I spent my younger years (in church) divided in my heart because of the judgement of other Christians who were much older than me. Many who did not show me love, interest or compassion in Jesus name. The looked at how I dressed or how I cut my hair and deemed me unrighteous. Thank you Lord for opening my eyes to realize that my relationship with Christ is not based on public opinion. Nuff said…..
Andrew “I’m Not Gay No More,”Caldwell was recently interviewed by The ShakeUp Radio giving his personal experiences with homosexuality in the church. Tell me what you think…
There have been many disputes over the years between recording artist and their music producers. But this story is one you hope to never see. Aspiring christian rapper Ryan Anthony Salandy, 22, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of William Dean McDaniel, 21. Police say that Salandy admitted to striking McDaniel with his car in the neighbor of Clarksburg, Maryland after an argument between the two of them on Friday, September 25.
Reportedly, the heated exchange was over music.
